AESTRAL PRIVATE SCHOOL had its humble beginning in the year 1994 with a staff of 3 and it carried a name AZTRAL TUTORIAL CENTRE providing tutorial programmes for local students in ENGLISH, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE and ACCOUNTS for GCE ‘N’ and ‘O’ level students and ECONOMICS and GENERAL PAPER for GCE ‘A’ level students.
Students who attended our Tutorial programmes excelled in their studies in school. As the name became popular many parents sought our help for their children. We are proud to state that the students who attended our Tutorials have graduated from the University of Singapore. Some have also graduated from the Polytechnic.
Our staff too grew in number and we began to realise that we needed a bigger premises so we moved into Peace Centre in the year 1995 with a staff of ten. Our school was registered with the Ministry of Education in the year 1996 and the Registration No. is 1061. All along we have been providing wonderful Tutorial Programmes unmatched by many in the same building and others elsewhere.
In 1996, we had students from China. They attended our GCE ‘O’ level programmes and were successful in the examination. We also started conducting Preparatory Courses for foreign students.
Students came from China, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei and Botswana. We sought for them Government Schools within 6 months, after providing them with extensive tutorial programmes.
In 1999, AZTRAL TUTORIAL CENTRE had a new name AESTRAL PRIVATE SCHOOL to remain meaningful in the field of Education. The school now conducts Full-time GCE ‘O’ Level Courses for students who are above 16 years of age. The full-time classes are conducted in the morning and in the afternoon. Normal Tutorial lessons too are carried out uninterrupted in the evening. We have so far maintained our standard and have track records to show how successful we had been since 1992.
Students who took our Preparatory programmes came back to us for Tutorial programmes that were interesting and enriching.
We also provide Spoken & Written English Programmes for the young and for the adults. Several Chinese Nationals attended our course of studies and have gained entry into other higher English Courses. Some have found employment. Our Courses are selected with care and are taught by experienced and highly skilled teachers.
Our performance in the field of Education had been noted by the British Council in Singapore and the Council constantly guide us to help conduct University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate's English programmes. We have now designed many programmes in line with their guidance to help the students.
The most ideal programmes for students from China are the Young Learners programme and the Key English Test programmes. These programmes are designed to meet the needs of the students. The Syllabus and contents are usually provided by the British Council.
